Bass  - Mike Meetze is a lifelong resident of Lexington. Growing up in Lexington was truly like living in Mayberry.  Everyone in town knew who you belonged to and would certainly “make a call” if you were caught misbehaving outside your home. Needless to say his mother received many phone calls during his growing up days.  Mike's memories of Hite’s Restaurant and Dairy Bar after Friday Night Football Games, could fill a book.  He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and loved to sing.  Mrs. Nevin Biser and Mrs. Bertha Caughman helped him develop his voice. Meetze sang throughout the years in church for weddings, funerals and Christmas Programs.    The Vietnam War would take Mike away from all that was familiar to him in 1970.  As a Dog Handler in the U.S.A.F., he would see the horror of lost dreams and life.  When Meetze returned he didn’t sing in any formal setting until he and his wife Jane joined Lexington Baptist Church in 1988.  Dan Williams was forming called Seraph Song and asked Mike to join.  Mike & Dan have been singing together ever since.  In 2005, Mike was asked to join The Called Quartet after the original bass singer suffered some medical issues and was unable to continue.  So from then on, the quartet's bass singer says it’s been a great journey with great friends who love to sing and praise our God.  Mike says he is blessed being a part of this group everyday.
